James Alfred Wight, writing under the pseudonym James Herriot, created a series of books inspired by his experiences as a veterinary surgeon in England from 1940 to 1992. This series, based on the novels, follows the heartwarming and humorous adventures of James, a young country vet living and working in Yorkshire in the late 1930s. The show centers on a trio of veterinary surgeons, including Siegfried Farnon, who hires James to join his practice at Skeldale House. Alongside Siegfried and James are Siegfried's younger brother, Tristan, and their housekeeper, Mrs. Hall.
